    04/13/03, Saad, Iraq-Children in Iraq are the most vunerable victims to the Iraqi conflicts; war, ethnic revenge, and religious struggle, etc. From a Kurdish girl killed by Ansar al-Islam fighters, to an Arab girl evicted by Kurdish soldiers, and to children of Ansar al-Islam fighters, these children are going through enormous difficulties in their lives. Basma Adnan Saer, 3, a Shammar tribe, rested on the dirt as a black smoke from an oil well burned in the background. Shammar tribe, an Arab tribe who settled in the Kurdish area three decades ago, started to live in tents after they were ordered to be evicted from their village by Kurdish pesh merga in Saad.

    02/14/03, Khurmal, Iraq-Danja Ismaeel Hussein, 6, left, held on to a western doll, as her father Mullah Marwan Ismaeel Hussein, expressed his worries over the American bombing. Khurmal residents feared the American bombing that will attack their village since Secretary of State Colin Powell mistakenly presented their village, Khumal, as the base of poison factory at UN Security Council meeting. The actual village suspected of poison factory was in Sargat, a base for Ansar al-Islam, supporters of Islam, extreme Islamic militant group. The village was bombed anyway later and US bomb killed several hundred people in the village.

    The Vunerable Children in Iraq:Ethnic Struggle-An Arab Boy: 04/11/03, Kirkuk, Iraq-Iraqi Arab men brought a boy with a bullet injury in his leg to American soldiers but an Iraqi Kurdish police and American soldiers denied help. The reason was not clear. American soldiers came in Kirkuk today to help the security of Kirkuk and based themselves in Saha al-Taharir, a former Iraqi Airforce Airbase in Kirkuk.
